BMW Charity Pro-Am Volunteers Needed

2018 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX
Monday, May 14 - Sunday, May 20, 2018

The BMW Charity Pro-Am could use your help this year. The BMW Golf Pro-Am has provided over 12 million dollars to area charities since 2001.

I am the Committee Chair again this year for the Walking Scorers at the Furman Golf Course for the BMW Pro Am Event.  This is the second year the Furman Golf Course has been one of three sites for the local PGA Tour event.

A Walking Scorer accompanies a golf foursome that includes two PGA Tour Professionals and two amateurs. He or she enters scores on PGA Tour equipment while walking the 18-hole round with the group. Walking Scorers need to be knowledgeable about golf scoring.  Attendance is required at a training session conducted by the PGA Tour. The training is about 1 ½ to 2 hours in length and will be conducted on Saturday May 12th at the Timmons Arena on the Furman University Campus. The training begins at 9:00 am and should conclude by 11:00 am. Volunteers will learn how to use the PGA Tour equipment that resembles a cell phone to record and update team scoring.  Scorers will be needed on Thursday May 18th through Saturday May 20th at Furman. The purchase of a uniform is required at a cost of $40. You receive tickets for the event and a few additional items in your Volunteer Package*.

This is a wonderful volunteer position that allows participants to see great shot making and excellent golf, all while giving back to the community.

There are other volunteer positions available.

Thanks for your consideration. Here is a link to the Volunteers registration:
